We were recently approached by Bottega, an Italian restaurant in Parkhurst right down the road from our lovely office, about designing their new menu. Bottega is an old school, truly Italian restaurant offering delicious food and fine wine to accompany it.
We adhered to the look and feel of the restaurant to meet this brief by using rustic fonts, two-toned colours and a juxtaposition of hand drawn and clean lines to recreate the feeling of eclecticism that the restaurant and menu items have. As with all menus, we kept a balance of a formal and informative appeal.
The fun but also the most difficult part about menu design is making sure that all the information on the menu is in the right place; we had to double and triple-check everything twice over to make sure we had everything is in its place. After everything was done, we had the menu printed in black and red on off-white paper, and placed onto a custom-made wooden board.
We were very pleased with how the menu turned out and so were the good people at Bottega. Feel free to stop by and check out the menu. You should order something too. It is just as awesome as the menu.
