I’ve finally (after a bit of a false start) decided to give Inktober a go. For a while I’ve been beating myself up a bit about not giving myself enough time to just enjoy drawing further than the work that I do – and the whole point its to develop positive drawing habits, so why not?

If it’s something you’re interested in – start. There are no rules disqualifying you if you aren’t able to participate for the full month, it’s just about trying for yourself. The only rules are:

1)Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
2) Post it online
3) Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2017
4) Repeat

If you’re looking for a bit more of a push, and a few tips to help make you feel comfortable jumping in – this is worth a read.

And, here is the official Inktober 2017 prompt list:

There are PLENTY other prompt lists if you give it a quick Google. Find the one which works for you!

It’s only been a few days, and I’m having a jol. It’s also been so inspiring to see other people’s work. Here are a few of my favourite submissions by participants:

And below is a look at my progress so far. I created a Greek Mythology/Astrology theme, using sculpture as a reference, and linking each character to an official prompt:

Shattered-min

Lilith_Filthy-min

Cyclops_Gigantic-min

Fat-min

Mystery_Pandora-min

Just do it. It’s fun.
